Welcome to iVratGuru. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the iVratGuru mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our Service.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using iVratGuru, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of iVratGuru, including visitors, registered users, and premium subscribers across all platforms (iOS, Android, and web).

1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using iVratGuru, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1.2 Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Sending a notification through the app
- Sending an email to the address associated with your account
- Posting a notice on our website
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
Your continued use of iVratGuru after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
1.3 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use iVratGuru. Users under 18 years of age should have parental consent before using the Service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age.
2. Description of Service
2.1 What is iVratGuru
iVratGuru is a mobile application and web platform that provides:
- Comprehensive guide to traditional Hindu fasting practices (Vratas)
- Personalized fasting calendar based on Hindu calendar (Panchang)
- Detailed information about various vratas, their significance, and procedures
- Kathas (religious stories) associated with each vrata
- Audio playback of kathas in Hindi using text-to-speech technology
- Recipe suggestions for fasting days
- Food guide for permitted and prohibited foods during fasts
- Fasting tracking and history
- Reminders and notifications for fasting days
- Offline access to previously downloaded content
2.2 Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
2.3 Platform Availability
- Available on iOS and Android mobile devices
- Web landing page available at https://ivratguru.com
- Minimum OS requirements: iOS 13+ / Android 8.0+
- Internet connection required for initial setup and content updates
- Offline mode available for previously downloaded content
3. User Accounts & Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of iVratGuru, you may need to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Create an account using email and password, or sign in anonymously (with limited features)
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- All activities that occur under your account
- Keeping your login credentials confidential and secure
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account
- Not sharing your account with others
- Ensuring that your use of the Service complies with these Terms
3.3 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in illegal activities
- Misuse the Service or content
- Infringe upon the rights of others
Account termination may result in loss of data and content. Premium subscriptions are non-refundable upon account termination, except as required by law.
3.4 Account Verification
Email verification may be required for certain features. We may request additional verification for security purposes. Unverified accounts may have limited functionality.
4. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities
4.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use iVratGuru only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must:
- Respect the religious and cultural nature of the content
- Use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
4.2 Prohibited Activities
You must NOT:
- Illegal Activities: Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Unauthorized Access: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, servers, or networks
- Reverse Engineering: Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Data Mining: Use automated systems to scrape, extract, or mine data from the Service
- Spam/Harassment: Send spam, harass, or abuse other users
- Malicious Code: Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Impersonation: Impersonate others or provide false information
- Commercial Use: Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
- Content Manipulation: Modify, copy, or redistribute app content without permission
- Interference: Interfere with app functionality or security measures
- Violation of Rights: Violate any third-party rights or laws
4.3 Religious Content Respect
iVratGuru contains religious and spiritual content. You must:
- Respect the religious nature of the content
- Not misuse, mock, or disrespect religious content
- Not use content in ways that may offend religious sentiments
- Use the Service in a manner that honors the spiritual traditions it represents
Violation of these guidelines may result in immediate account termination.
5. Content & Intellectual Property
5.1 Our Content
All content in iVratGuru, including text, images, audio, videos, design, logos, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our content
- Distribute, sell, or sublicense our content
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
- Use our content for commercial purposes without permission
5.2 User-Generated Content
You may create content within the app, such as fasting records, notes, and preferences. You retain ownership of your user-generated content.
By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any rights of others or any laws.
5.3 Third-Party Content
iVratGuru may contain content from third parties, such as stories, recipes, and images. This content is used with permission or under appropriate licenses.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party content. You must respect third-party intellectual property rights.
5.4 Audio Content
Audio kathas are generated using on-device text-to-speech technology. Audio files are stored on our servers for app functionality.
You may not:
- Download, redistribute, or commercialize audio content
- Use audio content for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial use
- Modify or create derivative works from audio content
5.5 Trademarks
"iVratGuru" and related logos are our trademarks. You may not use our trademarks without written permission. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
7. Disclaimers & Limitations
7.1 Content Accuracy
We strive to provide accurate information about Hindu fasting practices. However, information is provided for general guidance only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of content. Users should consult with religious authorities for specific guidance.
7.2 Religious Guidance
iVratGuru provides information about fasting practices, not religious advice. We are not a religious authority or organization. Users should consult with their religious leaders for specific guidance. We are not responsible for religious decisions made based on app content.
7.3 Health & Safety
Important Health Notice:
Fasting practices may not be suitable for everyone. Users should consult with healthcare professionals before fasting, especially if they have:
- Medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease, etc.)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Medications that require food intake
- History of eating disorders
We are not responsible for any health issues arising from fasting. Users fast at their own risk and discretion.
7.4 Service Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The Service may be affected by factors beyond our control, including network issues, server maintenance, or third-party service outages. We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss. Users should maintain backups of important data.
7.5 Third-Party Services
iVratGuru uses third-party services (Supabase, Firebase, OneSignal, RevenueCat, etc.). We are not responsible for third-party service availability or issues. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. Users should review third-party terms.
7.6 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or failures
- User actions or decisions based on app content
- Health issues arising from fasting practices
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for premium subscription (if any), or $10, whichever is greater.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of others
- Your violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Your user-generated content
We reserve the right to assume exclusive defense of any claim. You must cooperate with us in defense of any claim. We are not obligated to indemnify you.
9. Termination
9.1 User Termination
You can terminate your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion removes all user data. Premium purchases are non-refundable upon termination, except as required by law. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
9.2 Our Termination Rights
We may terminate or suspend your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in illegal activities
- You misuse the Service or content
- You violate the rights of others
- Required by law or legal process
- For any other reason at our sole discretion
9.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your data may be deleted (subject to legal requirements). Premium features will no longer be available. Provisions that should survive termination (such as indemnification, disclaimers, and dispute resolution) will remain in effect.
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of India. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
10.2 Dispute Process
If you have a dispute with us, you should first contact us at contact@ivratguru.com to attempt to resolve it. We will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith.
If resolution is not possible, disputes will be resolved through:
- Mediation (if applicable)
- Arbitration (if applicable and required by law)
- Court proceedings (as required by law)
10.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually. You waive the right to participate in class actions or consolidated proceedings. This does not affect your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
11. Privacy & Data Protection
11.1 Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, and protect your data. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our Privacy Policy.
11.2 Data Protection
We implement security measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining account security. We are not liable for unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain security.
12. Modifications to Service
12.1 Service Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
- Add, remove, or modify features at any time
- Change pricing, but existing purchases are honored
- Provide reasonable notice of significant changes
12.2 User Rights
If you disagree with service changes, you can stop using the Service or delete your account. Premium users will retain access to premium features as long as their account is active.

Additional Provisions
Force Majeure
We are not liable for failures due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, wars, pandemics, government actions, or network failures. Service may be temporarily unavailable due to force majeure events. We will attempt to restore service as soon as possible.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, other provisions remain in effect. Invalid provisions will be replaced with valid provisions that achieve a similar purpose. These Terms will be interpreted to give maximum effect to all provisions.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us. These Terms supersede all prior agreements and understandings. Any modifications must be in writing. Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our rights.
